No two sites are the same. The technology required to monitor a production line differs greatly from that required to view an entrance gate. In order to overcome this SeSys have developed flexible solutions to ensure that whatever the application we have the technology to meet the requirements.

Ten years ago standard CCTV systems were bulky analogue devices with a resolution of 0.1 megapixels. Images were captured on time delay as there was no way of programming the cameras to only save images on event. In order to store data either a specialist digital video recorders or a VHS player was required, Sending data via the PSTN was slow, with transmission slowed by bandwidth restrictions. In order to find a specific incident it was necessary to go through hours of footage.

Fast forward ten years and technology has moved on remarkably. High resolution 3 megapixel images are possible through digital IP cameras which can be programmed to capture images only when an event occurs. Built in image storage allows the camera to store data. Alternatively data can be sent via ADSL or 3G/GPRS to a storage unit offsite. Image storage on event means there is no need to look through hours of footage where nothing occurs to find the information required. Advancements in telecommunications, particularly ADSL allows the viewer to see the site via a web browser regardless of where they are in the world.

Improvements in data transmission has also changed installations. In the past it was necessary to lay cable in order to send data to a storage device. With wireless technology information can be transmitted to a central point, where it can be stored or sent via ADSL or other communications networks to an offsite storage unit.
